Getting Rid Of Hickies
68
You do not often plan on getting them, but sometimes hickeys happen. It is true that hickeys happen just as it is true that hickeys result from an extreme amount of suction. This often happens during an intense and passionate kissing session. The intense suction that this results in is actually what causes the blood vessels in the surface of the skin to break which creates a hickey. Essentially creating just a really big bruise. However, most people do not like the appearance of hickeys on their skin. In fact getting rid of hickeys is often a mystery to those that suffer the embarrassment of a hickey appearance.
However,
getting rid of hickeys is not as much of a mystery as one might have thought
that it could be. In fact, there are very easy at home remedies that can
actually help in the goal of getting rid of hickeys. If you know that you are
going to develop a hickey the first thing that you should do is to try to ice
the affected area. By icing the area you will help to reduce any swelling and
bleeding that might occur in the afflicted area.
If you do not notice the hickey until it has appeared you will need to try to
disperse the blood to minimize the hickey's appearance. You can do this by
gently massaging the affected area. The truth is that if you use a hairbrush or
a comb to massage the hickey it will actually help to break up the blood better
than simply massaging it with your fingers. The most extreme method of getting
rid of hickeys is to take a tube like object, such as a pen, and to apply
pressure to the center of the hickey. While you are doing this you are to twist
the object, and though this will cause a bit of pain it will help to work the
blood deeper below your skin to minimize the hickey's appearance.
To speed up the healing of the hickey there are things that you can do. Rubbing
vitamin K can actually help to get rid of hickeys faster. The vitamin K will
help to hydrate the skin and to disperse the excess blood in the area.
Additionally, you can use a used tea-bag to help to speed up the healing
process. The tea-bag should be wet and warm so that you can use it on the
afflicted area.
If
all else fails the easiest method of getting rid of hickeys is simply to hide
them. You can easily conceal a hickey by slipping on a turtleneck with your
jeans. Or perhaps you want to use a flirty scarf to camouflage the hickey on
your neck. Makeup can also be a really great tool to help you hide that hickey.
Use some concealer to cover the bruise. The key to doing a nice job of covering
up your hickey with makeup is to blend the edges thoroughly.
Of course the best method is to avoid getting a hickey all together, but
sometimes in the moment you just cannot help it. The good news is that getting
rid of hickeys is not nearly as mysterious as one would have though.
