Working inside a Dollar Tree store below the management level requires a friendly personality and great customer service skills. You will be required to run the cash registers as needed while filling the rest of your time stocking items on the store shelves. Most stores have a small team of employees, since only two to three store workers are typically needed at a time.
The great thing about working for Dollar Tree is you don't need extensive education and it can easily be your starter position if you are interested in higher positions in retail.
To apply for these positions simply print off a copy of the Dollar Tree job application from their website's store careers page. You should fill it out neatly by hand and walk it into the store that you would like to work in. If you shop at the store or happen to be near one you can always walk in and request an application as well.
You may be able to get some general information and see if they are hiring by asking the worker who takes your application. In some cases a manager may be on duty who is willing to interview you on the spot if they are actively searching for new employees at that location.
In-Store Positions (Coming Soon Locations)
If you want to work in a store that will be opening soon in your area, you need to go to the store careers page on their website and set up a profile. From there you will be considered for positions at the store to be opened soon in your area.
Management Positions
Dollar Tree has limited needs for store management personnel, so it can be more difficult to secure a position in this area. They have special training programs for managers as well as assistant managers which take qualified employees through extensive details on how to manage and operate a retail store. This is a very valuable opportunity for those who can secure the position, but spaces are limited.
